#1: Rachel Mock, Edelman
In the first video of our Sustainable Business Insight Series, we speak to Rachel Mock, Business + Social Purpose Lead, Edelman Hong Kong.
Rachel discusses current trends in Hong Kong relating to sustainability and trust in business, including stakeholder engagement, sustainability strategy and reporting, integration and creating a culture of sustainability.
Edelman’s 2016 Trust Barometer found that business is the least trusted institution in Hong Kong, with a 39 percent trust level. Yet business remains indispensable to the community: 62 percent of the general population agrees that companies can take specific actions that both increase profits and improve the economic and social conditions of the communities in which they operate.
This year’s research also found that the most important social issues for businesses to address in Hong Kong are access to education/training and healthcare.
